Banyan Tree Ungasan offers one of the most appealing culinary attractions in Bali: dining in a restaurant that is perched on top of the southern cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Standing 70 metres above the beach, Ju-Ma-Na Restaurant is designed to present a contemporary clifftop fine dining experience. The dramatic beauty on show outside the restaurant is balanced by the captivating interior decor. The room is dominated by white hues and a combination of contemporary carved ornaments and rattan chairs. Musical accompaniment blending with the sound of the waves contributes to the pleasant atmosphere.
“The music here is created especially for Ju-Ma-Na,” explained Marianne Budiharja, Public Relations Manager of Ju-Ma-Na Restaurant. “The word Ju-Ma-Na,” she added,” comes from Arabic meaning ‘silver pearl’.”
For a perfect dining experience Ju-Ma-Na recommends baby lobster confit for appetizer, wagyu beef for main course, and soft chocolate cake for dessert. “We cook wagyu beef for 36 hours at 62 degrees Celcius,” said Chef Mandif Membramo. He cooks in the kitchen that is located in the middle of the lobby.
Ju-Ma-Na is open only for dinner from 18.30 to 23.00, while the bar is open from 15.00 to 01.00.
